Apex Legends Review: Battle Royale Hit

Apex Legends is a team-based battle royale game set in the Titanfall universe that features a variety of weapons and an effective communication system. Download Apex Legends and make sure your team is victorious.

Graphics 5/5

Apex Legends features a realistic visual style that may feel a bit bland – especially after cartoonish battlegrounds you may have encountered in Fortnite or other battle royale projects. However, this style suits the game rather well: instead of swift free-for-all massacres, what we have here is a deeper, a little more thoughtful team-based action that requires good timing and tactics in addition to pure skills. All in all, the graphics are great – the only problem is that the Apex Legends specs are quite demanding to the performance of your hardware.

Gameplay 5/5

The most basic gameplay concept is typical for battle royale genre: you and 59 other players get thrown onto an island covered with mountains, swamps, deserts, and villages. And then your goal is to survive, looking out for enemies and gathering useful gear. However, Apex Legends is team-based, which means you are not alone – instead, you join a party and fight together.

The game features a variety of weapons that are easily recognizable. Each of them has its own shooting style, so you can find a suitable gun for your class and playing style. The classes are perfectly balanced, so every player can help his party in some way. But the most interesting feature of the game is the ping system that allows you to talk to your party members via simple commands with map markers.

Controls 5/5

The controls are smooth and responsive, and that’s what you really need for the swift and deadly fights of this Apex Legends action game. However, make sure to aim for the 90-plus FPS rate – otherwise, it’s hard to stay competitive. And sometimes that means that you have to sacrifice the looks, lowering your settings.

Replay Value 4/5

The replay value of the latest Apex Legends version is relatively high. Despite having just one map, the game manages to stay interesting by making gear spawn randomly and providing you with a variety of classes and weapons. You won’t play it forever – but it’s worth a couple of months, at the very least.

The Bottom Line

Apex Legends is a great example of the battle royale genre featuring an original communication system and team-based gameplay. Download Apex Legends and use complex tactics to outsmart your enemy.
